🏡 Self-Catering Cottage

The Hayloft

A sympathetically converted barn, The Hayloft has the character of its farming origins—high lofted ceilings and a generous open-plan living space where the modern kitchen, dining area and sitting room flow together. The first-floor layout keeps everything accessible, with two bedrooms (one with a double bed, one with zip-and-link singles) and a bathroom with shower over bath. Essentials like electricity, bed linen, towels and wi-fi are included; the kitchen is properly equipped for self-catering, with electric oven, hob, dishwasher and fridge-freezer.

The Hayloft sits within a 10-acre smallholding near Higher Trenear Farm, between Helston and the coastal cliffs of West Cornwall. Godolphin Estate borders the grounds—a National Trust property that featured in the Poldark television series. From here you can walk local footpaths, visit Helston itself (about 5 miles away, famous for its Furry Dance), or head to the beaches and rugged coastline within easy reach. On-site parking for two cars, an EV charging point, and storage for bikes and water sports kit are all provided. There's a garden with barbecue and a shared children's play area. The property does not permit smoking.

The best home from home, cosy stay weve ever had! We've never been to Cornwall before, our first experience was incredible. On arrival we had a bottle of prosecco, Scones, milk, bread, tea etc - everything you'd possibly need after a long drive. The Hayloft was super clean and cosy, and the hosts were wonderful. We had a small issue which was fixed in about 45 seconds! The bed was the comfiest with the plumpest pillows and duvet. There are pigs, goats and chickens on the farm as well as a lovely farm cat. We truly had the best stay and will be back next year!
