Higher Trewithen Holiday Cottages- The Weavers

Photo: Higher Trewithen Holiday Cottages

The Weavers is a ground-floor cottage on the grounds of Higher Trewithen, an early medieval farmstead converted into holiday lets. Two bedrooms and one bathroom sleep up to four guests with the whole property to yourselves. Everything is on one level: a living room with Smart TV and media players, a kitchen with electric cooking and a washing machine, a double bedroom, and a second room with two single beds that zip together. The bathroom has a bath with shower over it.

The 4-acre site includes woodland, pastures and gardens shared with other properties, plus a barbecue area and children's play area. You have private parking for two cars. Wi-Fi, electricity, bed linen and towels are included, though speeds can be variable given the rural setting. One dog is welcome, kept on a lead as the surrounding land is a working farm. No smoking in the cottage.

From here you can reach Kennal Vale Nature Reserve, a former gunpowder factory now rich in wildlife, within two miles. Stithians Lake offers a five-mile circular walk and water sports. Beaches and coves across Cornwall are within touring distance, making this a practical base for exploring the county.

This is a lovely, restful cottage managed by a friendly couple. While it isn't located on a beach it isn't far away. Would recommend having a car to stay here. Nice facilities and love the animals nearby. The chickens located next door are free ranging and swing by to say hi on a regular basis. You can take a short walk across to see the horses and sheep. Eco conscious and a lovely relaxing vibe.

Our family have just spent a week in The Barn, really lovely accommodation and Simon and Maria are so welcoming, very helpful with advice and local knowledge. Location wise we were only 20/25 minutes from either coast and 45 mins from Lands End, ideal for access to the whole area. It was actually lovely to spend the day in the tourist spots then come back to the peace and quiet of the farm! Also would like to give 5 stars to the online welcome booklet emailed prior to our arrival. Full of all information you could need about the accommodation, local area, checking in and out, beaches, eating out, pretty much everything you could want! Extremely helpful to us when deciding where to visit!

Simon and Maria were lovely hosts. Their holiday cottages are very comfortable and well equipped, particularly the kitchen. Wifi was great too! I thoroughly enjoyed my stay with my dog Spencer. Maria even gave me a special towel for my Spencer! :-)

Had an excellent 4 Generation Family break for 6 nights. Renting 3 different properties. All Very clean & comfortable, with no complaints or issues whatsoever. Would highly recommend for a relaxed break. location is slightly remote, but not a problem as it's so central to all the coastal landmarks & attractions within a 30 minute drive. Would return without hesitation
