Opening the door to Puffin Burrow puts you directly into a ground-floor living space where the sea becomes part of your day. The layout is simple and flowing: a living area with television and a woodburner, dining space, and kitchen with everything you need to cook properly. Upstairs, a single bedroom with a super king bed (or two single beds on request) faces the water, as does the ensuite with bath and shower. Electricity, wifi, bed linen and towels are included.
Two terraces give you choice. One patio sits off the main cottage; the other, a waterfront platform shared with the adjacent property, is reached by steep steps down to the water's edge. The bedroom and living room both frame the views across the cove towards Chapel Point. This is a working waterfront rather than a manicured viewpoint—you'll hear the sound of water and the life of the cove around you. Parking is 80 yards away on the road. Smoking is not permitted; one pet stays free.
The cottage sits within the village of Portmellon, where a traditional pub is just 50 yards away and a sandy beach curves around the cove. Kayak and paddleboard hire operate from the beach, and a café runs through the summer months. Walking distance brings you to Mevagissey's working harbour, with its restaurants and shops, while the South West Coastal Path runs right past your door.

Puffin Burrows is a lovely place with beautiful furniture, nicely decorated and well equipped. If you want it even closer to the sea you have to rent a boat. It’s living right on top of the ocean. It was quite stormy during our stay and it was fascinating to watch the immense power of the waves crashing onto the shore. We loved staying there and Wendy and Danny are very helpful and welcoming people. We can highly recommend this cottage.

We have been coming to Puffin Burrow for nearly 30 years, we love it there. Since Danny and Wendy have taken ownership of the cottage it has been improved dramatically and dealing with Danny and Wendy is an excellent experience, they demonstrate real care for their guests experience at Puffin Burrow, we would definitely like to return soon. Thank you Danny and Wendy.

I cannot begin to express how wonderful Puffins Burrow is. The location is incredible and the let is stunning and wonderfully comfortable. We so desperately needed to de-stress and my goodness, Puffins Burrow delivered! We walked both directions off the coastal path and enjoyed Mevagissy very much
