River View

Photo: Fowey River Views

Fowey sits on Cornwall's south coast where the river opens to the sea, and the Bodinnick Ferry runs between steep wooded banks just beyond the village. River View occupies a prime spot with sight lines down to the water and across to the old stone bridge—the kind of setting that draws people back year after year. A single bedroom with a king-sized bed, bathroom with bath and shower, and a combined living and dining room make up a compact but properly finished home for two. The decked garden is split across two levels, furnished for sitting out, with the river views as the main event.

The kitchen has an electric oven, gas hob, microwave and fridge-freezer, so you can cook properly or keep things simple. Sliding doors open from the living room onto the garden terrace. Upstairs, the bedroom also has patio access to a private balcony—good for morning coffee if the weather allows. Wi-Fi, heating, bed linen and towels are all included; parking for one car is on site. The property sits 15 steps up from street level, with a further 6 steps within the garden itself. Smoking is not permitted indoors.

6 night stay. What a beautiful property with an amazing view of the river! Spotlessly clean, in a perfect location and close to everything. I would not hesitate in staying here again! Amazing! Thank you!

Beautiful location, right on the waters edge and close to both the town centre and free overnight parking - you can even unload outside the door which is a real bonus in Fowey. The cottage is very comfortable and well equiped and the owners couldn't be more helpful. The view from the Juliette balcony in the second floor lounge is breathtaking and there is always something interesting to see on the river. We stayed in early May and the cottage was warm and cosy so book it - you won't regret it!

We've stayed at river views twice and it's the ideal place to explore the local area. You're also only a five min walk or so into Fowey itself with all the places to eat and drink on offer. The cottage itself is well set up with everything you need for a long or short stay. The views onto the river are amazing and certainly a fantastic way to enjoy a few quiet moments (we took our 8 month old son so there weren't many of those). Sarah and her husband are really great and are there for any questions or additional things you may need. They were quick to respond to queries and couldn't have helped more. All in all I'd highly recommend a stay if you are looking to enjoy South Cornwall.

We had a wonderful weeks stay at Fowey River Views. The flat is on the top two floors and sleeps four. It has all you need from a well appointed kitchen thru to beach towels but mind your head in the upper rooms. The juliet balcony provides fine views across to the Bodinnick Ferry landing point and down river towards the harbour mouth. It's fascinating watching the varied crafts going up and down the river, particularly the occasional cargo ships. What with wall to wall sunshine and the excellent food and atmosphere at Sam's restaurant, 5 minutes walk away in the town centre, we could not fail to enjoy our holiday.
