Rosecraddoc Manor - Riverbank

Photo: Rosecraddoc Manor

Riverbank comes ready for a family holiday. The kitchen has everything needed to cook properly—electric cooker, dishwasher, fridge-freezer and microwave—while upstairs there's a separate bathroom with bath and shower. Bed linen is provided, along with wifi and on-site parking. A cot and highchair are available for younger children.

The layout spreads across two floors. Downstairs holds a living and dining room with TV and DVD player, a double bedroom, and a wet room with grab rails and shower seat. Upstairs are two further bedrooms—one double with patio doors and one with two single beds—plus the main bathroom. The ground-floor facilities are designed to be wheelchair accessible, and a balcony overlooks the grounds.

The cottage sits within Rosecraddoc Manor's 35 acres, which includes bluebell woods, a fishing lake stocked with carp and roach, and footpaths to walk. The village of Seaton is nearby, with a shop and pub a mile and a half away. Looe, with its beaches and attractions, is eight miles off; Plymouth and the Eden Project are about twenty miles further on.

The place is quite relaxing and spacious actually for those looking for a peaceful holiday escape. My dogs are very pleased, but I have a few concerns. Firstly, everything is behind a paywall. I understand the place is quite cheap, but i did not expect them to charge a hefty price for the wifi and electricity. Another concern is that there doesn’t seem to be much to do. Most attractions have to be driven at least 30 minutes to get there. The staff is not very accommodating, and may even be seen as quite rude. Unfortunately we had to leave 2 days early to another location for our family holiday.

Wonderful location. Beautiful woodland walk. Right on the edge of stunning Bodmin Moor. Very warm welcome from all the staff and owners.

Beautiful grounds but spoiled by the many holiday buildings. We had few small issues but they were rectified same day which was fantastic. Def a place to relax
