Rosecraddoc Manor - Riverview

Photo: Rosecraddoc Manor

Rosecraddoc Manor – Riverview is a detached house within a converted estate dating to the 1820s, set among 35 acres of grounds with woodland and a small river. The property sits on the banks of this watercourse, looking out across parkland toward a fishing lake. The whole place is yours alone, sleeping six across three bedrooms and two bathrooms, with parking on site and wifi throughout.

Two of the bedrooms have four-poster doubles; the third has single beds. The ground floor holds the main living and dining space (with TV and DVD player), a kitchen equipped for cooking from scratch, and a bedroom with en suite featuring a Jacuzzi bath. A grab rail is fitted here. The first floor adds another double bedroom with patio doors and a second bathroom with shower. A cot and highchair are available. The layout is designed for wheelchair users, with accessible ground-floor facilities and level access to the entrance.

Liskeard is nearby; Looe lies 8 miles away and offers seaside attractions, while Plymouth and the Eden Project are roughly 20 miles distant. The estate itself has a stocked fishing lake, an all-weather tennis court (April to October), and footpaths through the grounds. A pub and shop are 1½ miles away. Smoking is not permitted in the property.

The place is quite relaxing and spacious actually for those looking for a peaceful holiday escape. My dogs are very pleased, but I have a few concerns. Firstly, everything is behind a paywall. I understand the place is quite cheap, but i did not expect them to charge a hefty price for the wifi and electricity. Another concern is that there doesn’t seem to be much to do. Most attractions have to be driven at least 30 minutes to get there. The staff is not very accommodating, and may even be seen as quite rude. Unfortunately we had to leave 2 days early to another location for our family holiday.

Wonderful location. Beautiful woodland walk. Right on the edge of stunning Bodmin Moor. Very warm welcome from all the staff and owners.

Beautiful grounds but spoiled by the many holiday buildings. We had few small issues but they were rectified same day which was fantastic. Def a place to relax
