Sandbar

Photo: Sandbar

Sandbar is a reverse-level house with two bedrooms and two bathrooms, sleeping up to six. The ground floor holds both bedrooms—one with a king bed and ensuite shower, the other with two single beds—plus a family bathroom. Upstairs, the main living space is light and open plan, with a kitchen at one end fitted for full self-catering: electric oven, induction hob, dishwasher, microwave and coffee machine are all there. The living area centres on a sofa bed (doubling as extra sleeping space for two), a wood burner, and a 43-inch smart TV with DVD player. Bi-fold doors open onto a Juliet balcony overlooking the surrounding landscape.

St Just in Roseland sits about six miles north of Truro, a village known for its 13th-century church and subtropical plants—the churchyard itself is worth a wander. The property is within walking distance of the water's edge, with a local shop, tearoom and pub in the village. St Mawes, a harbour town with restaurants and boutique shops, is reachable on foot along the estuary path. Essentials including wifi, heating, electricity, bed linen and towels are covered. One car can park on site; additional spaces are available on the road. One well-behaved pet is welcome. No smoking indoors.

What a beautiful house. We really loved spending time here, especially as the weather was so wet and grey it meant we made full use of the accommodation. The open plan area upstairs is lovely and spacious with great views of the estuary. Everything was made to feel comfortable and welcoming and the underfloor heating was a real luxury. The kitchen had everything we needed and the beds were lovely to sleep in. The local walks and recommendations to see the church and cafe were spot on. Wendy was excellent in responding to every communication made and made us feel welcome. Would love to come back here with hopefully better weather next time, as there is a lot to explore and see!

Sandbar is stunning! As soon as you walk through the front door, you get a real sense that it's a home from home. Even down to things like toiletries, firewood, roasting trays... Things that seem insignificant but that make it possible to have an effortlessly comfortable stay. It's evident that Wendy et al don't want guests to have an average stay... There's been a lot of thought put into the layout and provisions. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend Sandbar to friends and family!

A weekend stay in April with my daughter was so good, what a location. After a day filled with fresh sea air, walking Coastal paths, St Mawes, Portloe and more, returning to the comfort and warmth of Sandbar was wonderful. Squashy sofas, comfortable beds and well appointed bathrooms ( which were very warm) and the facilities of a fabulous kitchen, made everything perfect. A beautiful house with amazing views, I would highly recommend a stay here. Pat Reeve

We have just returned from a wonderful week at Sandbar. The whole family loved this beautiful house we felt at home right away. Sandbar is clean, beautifully presented with all home comforts on a quiet cul-de-sac. The views of the estuary really are something special we found it so relaxing to watch the sunsets after a busy day exploring. This area of Cornwall had a wonderfully relaxed feel with amazing coastal walks and boat trips. This was our second trip with Wendy at Moor to Sea cottages and definitely won't be our last. Perfect thank you so much💙
