St Illex stands on a headland above Port Gaverne, within steps of the coastal path. The entire property sits on a single level, built around an open-plan living and dining space with bi-fold doors onto patios—the layout makes full use of the sea views and the gardens that run front and back. Four bedrooms and two bathrooms sleep eight; the beds range from a king in the first room down to singles in the other three. A second shower room and separate toilet add practical flexibility.
The kitchen is equipped for serious cooking: two electric ovens, a hob, dishwasher and all the basics mean you can prepare meals from the fresh local produce sold at Port Isaac's fish shops and the nearby farm shop. Heating comes from oil central heating and a wood burner; wi-fi, bed linen and towels are included. There is private parking for three cars and a barbecue among the garden furniture. One dog can stay free of charge; the house does not permit smoking.
Port Gaverne beach is a 6–7 minute walk away. Port Isaac itself, with its narrow streets and slate cottages, lies a little further along the coast. The coastal path runs past the door, making this a good base for exploring this stretch of north Cornwall.
