The Dunes
Cornwall

Porthtowan is one of Cornwall's best-known surf spots, with consistent waves and a village built around beach life. The Dunes sits in the heart of it, a short walk from sand that widens dramatically as the tide retreats, eventually connecting with Chapel Porth. The beach has won Blue Flag status for water quality, and there's a surf school on the sand if you want tuition or board rental.
This ground-floor apartment sleeps four across two bedrooms: a double and a room with adult-sized bunk beds. The living areas are open-plan, flowing from kitchen through dining space to sitting room with a smart TV. A small garden with furniture offers a quiet spot to sit out in the evening. Two cars can park on site. Essentials like electricity, heating, bed linen and towels come as standard; wifi is included too. The property does not permit smoking.
Beyond the beach, Porthtowan has the Blue Bar and other cafés and pubs within easy reach. The golden sand and dramatic cliffs—including the ruins of Wheal Coates engine house visible on the headland—make this a compelling base for a coastal break, whether you're here for the water or simply to walk and watch.
