Tolcarne is a two-bedroom lodge on the grounds of Carnebo Holiday Barns, a few minutes from Newquay on Cornwall's north coast. The whole property is yours alone, sleeping four guests. Everything you need for self-catering is here: a fully fitted kitchen with electric oven and hob, microwave and washing machine; bed linen and towels; wi-fi and electricity included in the price. One well-behaved dog can stay at no extra cost.
The ground-floor layout keeps things simple. An open-plan living space has a 50-inch television and patio doors onto a private balcony where you can dine or use the barbecue. Bedroom one has a king-size bed, bedroom two has two single beds that zip together, and both have televisions. The shower room is compact but functional. A travel cot, highchair and stairgate are available if you ask when booking. Electric heating keeps the place warm year-round.
Beyond the lodge itself, the site has a shared heated outdoor swimming pool (one depth throughout), a children's play area and a fishpond. Tolcarne Beach is ten minutes away. Newquay and Perranporth, with their three-mile sandy shores and regular surfing competitions, are nearby; the Eden Project, Newquay Zoo and Blue Reef Aquarium are all within reach. No smoking indoors.

Tolcarne Beach in Cornwall is a golden sandy cove with rolling surf, dramatic cliffs and cosy cafés. Perfect for sea swims, sunsets and peaceful walks beside the sparkling Atlantic Ocean at low tide! Enjoy it guys

Accommodation very good. Good access to the beach, popular with surfers. Comfortable restaurant with very helpful staff, good breakfast choices. Downside, we stayed for 7 nights and only dined in Restaurant twice, dinner menu very limited but what we had was very good, and in the conservatory there was a strong " wet dog" smell as dogs are allowed, however plenty of restaurants within a short walk or drive. Need a fairly good level of fitness as access when walking is either by a very steep walk up the cliff road or by around 140 steps up the cliff side.

Really nice beach, quite pricey for drinks though. When the tide is in its secluded with access via a steep path or staircase, when the tide is out you can walk all the way along to the other beaches.
