Treganoon Round Barn

Photo: Gabriel Florin

Bodmin Moor dominates the landscape here—granite moorland rising to 1,377 feet, heather-covered and dotted with the kind of walking routes that reward a full day outdoors. Treganoon Round Barn sits in a quiet hamlet within reach of the moor's trails, and also positioned for trips to the Eden Project, Charlestown and Fowey on the eastern side of St Austell. The coast is six miles away.

The barn itself is a working conversion of a historic grain store. Three bedrooms span the lower ground and ground floors: two doubles of 4ft 6in and a room with two 3ft singles. There are two bathrooms—one with shower cubicle, one with bath and shower. The living areas include a sitting room with Freeview TV and DVD player, plus a dining room and kitchen equipped for proper cooking with electric oven and hob, dishwasher and microwave. A utility room has a washing machine. One well-behaved dog is welcome. Essentials like electricity, heating, bed linen, towels and wifi are included, and there is parking for two cars on site.

An enclosed garden with furniture and a barbecue opens off the property. The building's round sections and unexpected angles—remnants of its original purpose—create an atmosphere quite different from standard holiday accommodation. No smoking inside.

Wonderful two night stay in rural Cornwall. Kevin and Sara were perfect hosts. Comfortable en suite room and pleasant breakfast in the living room. What more could you ask for? Highly recommended.

We had the best overnight stay at Treganoon House B&B – truly a hidden gem surrounded by nature in a beautiful farmhouse setting. From the moment we arrived (very late in the evening!), we were warmly welcomed by the loveliest couple, who greeted us so politely and made us feel completely at home plus Netflix to catch up on your series or keep the kids entertained. After a long day, we struggled to find a table at any of the local restaurants as they were all very busy. Thankfully, our wonderful host went above and beyond by booking us a table for three at The Kings Arms. The food there was absolutely delicious, and the staff were equally welcoming – it couldn’t have been a better recommendation. The stay itself was peaceful, cozy, and full of charm. If you’re looking for comfort, hospitality, and the perfect countryside escape, Treganoon House B&B is second to none. We will definitely return!

Booked in here for 4 nights. Hosts Kevin & Sara welcoming. But! Our room was basic, low pressure shower, bed way too soft and uncomfortable. TV signal non existing as Sara had to connect us to the WIFI which was terrible. I was looking for the hamster as the wheel on the TV kept appearing. We finally gave up and tried to get some sleep. Due to having a busy schedule of activities by the time we arrived back in the B&B we were both too tired to care. We could have slept on the floor we were that tired. Room facilities/furniture out dated and mix mash. Previous guest left some clothes behind which my wife found and we let Sara know. If your after a quite location then this is for you. Be warned it is located in the middle of country off single track Cornwall roads. Due to covid restrictions no breakfast. But if you take your own cereal they will charge you £1 for milk.

We stayed here last year. Absolutely beautiful place. The host’s are amazing and we loved sitting eating breakfast with them, felt like a home away from home. They took the boys out to feed the pigs and chickens in the morning which they loved. Homemade bread and Jam is to die for 😋 My son loved the jam so much they gave him a jar to take home. We will definitely be staying here again.
