Bramble Cottage

You arrive at Bramble Cottage through a single step into a ground-floor living and dining room with French doors onto the garden. The kitchen is fully fitted for cooking—electric oven and hob, dishwasher, microwave, coffee machine—with a washing machine tucked away. Upstairs are two double bedrooms, each with a smart TV, and a shower room with a walk-in enclosure. The cottage is heated throughout and comes with wi-fi, bed linen and towels; essentials are covered.

Beyond the French doors sits a private, enclosed garden with patio and furniture. A hot tub seats five and runs year-round. There's space for one car to park, and an electric car charging point is available at cost. One well-behaved dog over 12 months old is welcome, provided it stays downstairs and is supervised. Smoking is not permitted inside.

The village of South Cerney has everyday amenities and sits within reach of country walks and cycling routes across the Cotswolds. The nearby Eliot Arms provides an easy evening out. Bramble Cottage suits couples wanting a quiet retreat or families exploring the region, with the hot tub making it practical for a longer stay.

Had a lovely stay at Bramble Cottage for four of us. The cottage had everything you could possibly need and you can see that the owners have put a lot thought and care into the place. The owners Liz and Phil were great and kept me updated throughout and were just a message away if I needed anything. The location itself is ideal with a choice of traditional local pubs, places to eat and trail walks within walking distance. If you are looking for a stay at the Cotswalds then I definitely recommend!

Had a lovely weekend stay at Bramble Cottage. This is one of the nicest placest we've stayed. The décor and cleanliness is to a very high standard and the welcome box was second to none. The covered hot tub was amazing and you can still see the stars in the evening. The owners are there if you need them and communication was great. We cannot wait to come and stay again.

A very nice area and village. The cottage itself is very nice, spacious with a separate kitchen area. The kitchen is well equipped and has all the items you want for cooking. There is dishwasher and washing machine, but no tumble dryer. There is a coffee pod machine by Nespresso, but once the pods have been used (which were kindly left) they can only be purchased from Nespresso directly. No third party pods are available. The living area is spacious, however the 2019 smart TV is placed very high on the wall and with the low top sofa makes it a challenge to watch for any length of time. Unfortunately, the WiFi is horrendous, whilst we were there the fastest speed we obtained through Vodaphone was was under 1MBPS, so much so making the old smart TV pretty much useless. The TV itself has banding on the screen and a great deal of lag. We even reset the TV which helped a little but not a great deal. A trick had been missed with the mounting of the TV and perhaps should have been on a swivel mount to make life more comfortable. The lighting in the living / dinning area was annoying as if someone was doing something at the table and someone else was watching the TV the lighting was all or nothing. It was a shame they hadn't considered splitting the lighting to enable activities at the table with lighting and watching the TV without it. Outside was really well presented, super hot tub with plenty of settings, its a shame the Bluetooth speakers had been disabled by code. There are mirrors either side and hooks for dressing gowns. On the other side of the garden was a picnic bench. What was disappointing for us was that there were no comfortable garden furniture. So basically, other than the hot tub there was nowhere to relax in the garden at all as the picnic bench was pretty hard and uncomfortable. Upstairs were two bedrooms really well finished, the beds were very small (standard doubles). Both TVs were arguably better than the 5 year old one downstairs, they didn't lag but again if steaming, the internet made life very difficult. The shower is electric and although not the most powerful, was clean, roomy and more than sufficient for our stay. It also had the toilet and sink in the same bathroom. An EV plugged is supplied but it wasn't used due to the £20 cost. Which far exceeds what I would pay with IONITY etc. Overall the property was great, however we wouldn't revisit due to the issues with the internet, TV and the lack of comfortable garden furniture. To us, chilling out in the summer evening outside wasn't possible due to the lack of furniture and so watch TV became difficult due to the internet / position of the TV.
