This is a great hidden gem of a museum. The engines are well restored and we're sad we missed one of their steaming days. The pumping models include pipes, different sorts of valves and even half a centrifugal pump to show the inner workings. There are lots of handmade working models to explain the concepts involved steam engines and the sewage works that once serviced Cambridge. The working printing presses and very knowledgeable volunteers were also a highlight. So glad we stopped here for a morning.

A small museum with knocked open boilers. I saw an open Babcock and Wilcox boiler for the first time in my life. The best part is all exhibits you could touch and move and enjoy. Kids were particularly happy with all this interaction. In the adjoining Pym building there was a lecture going on and so we could not see as much. Kids saw pagers and were asking what they were. Hah! 3 hours is enough time to dedicate here. Park at the Tesco nearby.

Really wondering what on earth is going on here. I was at the Museum for coffee this morning, and arrived to find a chainsaw massacre of the copse of trees that provide shade and a sense of being somewhere when sat in the lower yard. The trees were all healthy as far as I can see. What idiocy at a time when we need trees to help cool us.
