About Cambridge Camping and Caravanning Club Site

Countryside and city are both at your beck and call at this well-run Camping and Caravanning Club site on Cambridge's edge. Reviewers consistently praise the spotless facilities – from the toilets and showers to the washing-up areas – while the flat, spacious pitches (grass or gravel, some jumbo-sized) and flower-filled grounds create a surprisingly peaceful setting. The friendly staff add to the welcoming atmosphere, and there's a play area for children plus a dedicated dog walk.

A regular bus service whisks you into one of England's most historic cities in around 15-20 minutes, perfect for punting, museum-hopping or admiring the college architecture. Meanwhile, the gentle Fenland landscapes invite easy family walks and bike rides through woodland and meadows. The M11 and A14 are close by too, opening up day trips to Ely, Newmarket and IWM Duxford.

Both members and non-members are welcome, though Club membership brings discounted rates. Facilities include a site shop, wifi and accessible bathrooms with a family shower room.

What visitors say

Colin “Colster” Hanton

Before arriving at the site, you will have to contend with Cambridgeshire's awful roads that have potholes appearing at such frequency, you will assume that the roads were a from war torn country. Then the small road into the site, 100m and 5 speed humps, and sneering neighbours who look at you with great resentment for being on their road. Once on site, the staff are simply lovely, welcoming, friendly, really happy to help. The site is quite large, divided into two prominent areas. There is the main camping area with amenities and denoted pitches, and a second area for the off-grid campers. All areas are immaculately kept. Where the site begins to score badly is it feels penny pinching. There is just enough of things to meet the requirements, and exactly nothing to spare. The kiddies play area is positively depressing. The dog walking area seems like an afterthought. All water points are push button timed, irrespective of dishwashing, bathroom, or shower. Even the water temperature is set. Pitches are well spaced, largely level, and lots of them. However, it feels like a carpark rather than a campsite. Matters are worsened by the new build estates peering over the tree tops, these Lego styled mono boxes filled to maximum occupancy loom heavily, and they are the prominent feature of the skyline. Locally, do not expect much. Facilities are limited unless you go into the city. Again, potholes and poor roads are the normal, and become very tiresome quickly. Unless you absolutely must visit Cambridge with a camper or caravan, I would urge you to look elsewhere. ⚠️

Extremely well run and welcoming campsite. Facilities are very good, staff friendly and helpful. Dogs are welcome with a short walk on site and fields across the road for off lead running. Lots of friendly dogs and campers on site so lots of belly rubs and an all round good vibe. Shame you can't drive out till 7am, 6:30 would have been better but I do understand and you can't have it all❤️

Very good place to visit Cambridge. Either by local bus or from park and ride which is less than 5 mins drive. Waitrose only 5 min drive for provisions. Several national trust properties within easy drive. Staff are very helpful and site is tidy and well maintained. Would definately return.
