What visitors say
Hadn't really heard about this zoo untl fairly recently. A zoo in an old castle's ruins! Pre-booked a ticket for 10 and went straight in, although it looked like there were queues later in the day. Obviously as it's on a hill be prepared to walk up and down slopes and steps, but none of it was too bad. Some paths are unsuitable for wheelchair access but there are alternative routes. The enclosures on the whole were huge, the animals had plenty of room. Even the aviaries for the owls were huge. Much bigger than at some falconry places I've visited. Most of the animals looked happy and fulfilled. The two young orangutans were playing together having a great time. A wide variety of animals including some you don't often see at zoos, such as the arctic fox and a hawk-owl. Not all the animals are where you'd expect them to be, there were frogs and stick insects in the barn in the farm section. It wasn't just Guinea Pigs. It's a great day out and well worth visiting.

Excellent place. Went with a toddler, spent 3/4th of a day, got Father’s Day (2 for 1) discount also, excellent value for money. Lots of activities for children, many play areas and seating for having food. There’s a good castle also. There were also some live children activities going on near the castle. - Directions and signposting could be clearer - More restrooms would also help.

Our visit to Dudley Zoo yesterday. We was no left disappointed. A variety of animals and Creatures to look at, and plenty of things to do. I was especially impressed with the bats inside the castle ruins which is something you must experience if you haven’t already. A special shoutout to Batman ‘Dan’ who was extremely helpful & knowledge when asked questions about bats & gave us some insight aswell which was nice. This zoo is very hilly however is suitable for wheelchair users, I’d say 80-90% of the location is wheelchair friendly. There is also a nice cafe on the outside & inside of the castle ruins if you’d like lunch or a drink half way through your visit. Also a few vending players dotted around but wasn’t open on our visit yet. A train greets you just as you walk into the zoo to take you to the castle so you don’t have to walk up the slight hill you first see walking round, or you can take the single chair lifts (19 stone max) to also help you avoid the hill climb straight away 😅 Overall a fantastic zoo that we will be sure to visit again soon. My scores for our visit. Staff 7.5/10 Food 7.5/10 Cleanliness 8/10
