About The Moelwyn Hotel & Restaurant
The Moelwyn is a small hotel and restaurant on Mona Terrace, a short walk from Criccieth's seafront, with six double and twin en-suite rooms above a restaurant that is one of the more established dining spots in the town. Its position gives several rooms uninterrupted views across Cardigan Bay towards the mountains of Snowdonia.
The restaurant serves a daily breakfast to residents along with an evening menu open to non-residents, and the hotel's compact size keeps the atmosphere personal rather than corporate. Free WiFi covers the public areas and self-parking is available nearby.
Its location close to the seafront and shops makes it a straightforward, no-car-needed base for a short stay, with the castle and both beaches within easy walking distance.

Fanstatic location, the views from the windows were perfect. Well priced and the hosts are great. I stayed 5 months ago and forgot to leave a review. But i will be going back in 2026. Cheers guys and happy new year.

We booked in here for 2 nights. Despite being a bit nervous due to some of the reviews, it was absolutely fabulous! The rooms were clean and to be honest, exactly as you would expect for a B&B! The location was really good with beach views. The owners were really friendly and accommodating. Despite not being able to offer food anymore they offered suggestions and plates, cutlery ect to bring food back to the hotel. Would 100% rebook! Thank you for a wonderful trip!

Still here but felt I might leave a review. Stephen and Jo are absolutely lovely people, warm, genuine and friendly. Massive bed, comfortable sea view room, great location for tourism with loads to see all in easy drive times. Got a great tip for a rainy day too should there be one. Ask Stephen about it 😉. I'd have no hesitation to book here again because of all of the above, and the price for four days just over £200. Can't quibble at that. Very close to some smashing pubs too.

Amazing hosts! After a devastating flood (believed to be caused by a guest) this place has had a complete makeover in the dining room ready for re-opening of the restaurant. We were allowed to use it for our takeaway tea with amazing views over the bay. There is a cafe 50 metres away offering breakfast from 8am if you need it. The rooms were of a great size and whilst needing some modernisation, had everything you need and were very comfortable. Highly recommended.
