About The Dormy House Hotel
Walk into a room at The Dormy House Hotel and you'll find clean, well-proportioned space, with some rooms looking out over the sea. It's a modest hotel with just 16 rooms, on Cromer Road in Cromer, so the feel is more personal than corporate, backed up by staff who are known for going out of their way to help.
Breakfast comes as a generous hamper, a nice touch that guests consistently rate as one of the highlights of a stay, though the wider restaurant menu can be on the limited side. Beyond that, the hotel has a bar, a snack bar, air conditioning, a garden and an indoor swimming pool, along with a lift, luggage storage and free WiFi throughout. It also handles meetings and weddings, with concierge services on hand for anything guests need sorting.
Free on-site parking makes it an easy base for exploring the North Norfolk coast, with pubs, restaurants and entertainment all within easy reach nearby. It suits guests who want straightforward comfort and a good breakfast rather than an elaborate dining scene.

What guests say
We had a lovely two day stay at this hotel. The rooms are quite dated but large. The bed was ok, pillows very flat and need replacing. The breakfast hamper included in the price was a nice touch. The outdoor terrace on the back is great and you can see the sea just about. The food in the restaurant was excellent. The staff were helpful and friendly. It is in a great location for surrounding area. You can walk to pubs, beach and local services. However it is on a main road. Plenty of parking. The terrace on the front of the hotel is not very nice due to busy road. I would stay again and it was very good value for money.

We recently stayed at The Dormy House on Cromer Road, and it was fantastic. Mandy and the rest of the staff are so genuine, lovely, and caring. I have some health problems, and they were incredibly accommodating, going out of their way to ensure I was comfortable. The food here is lovely and well-known in the area for good reason. The general menu is great, and we were lucky enough to visit while they were hosting the Stretched Pizza Company. The outdoor bar area is also a beautiful spot to relax, play a game of pool, and catch some scenic sunset views. **A few highlights:** * **Perfect Location:** A nice, scenic walk or short drive to East and West Runton beaches, Cromer, and Sheringham. * **Sandy Beaches:** We also drove 15–20 minutes to Mundesley for miles of beautiful, soft sandy beaches (accessible even at high tide) * **Stress-Free:** Plenty of parking space on-site. * **Dog-Friendly:** Very welcoming to dogs, both in the hotel and the general area. We felt so well looked after and will definitely be back!

Since the new owners, the food quality has deteriorated dramatically, we had a Sunday roast costing £20 pp! What a rip off for substandard food. It was disgusting, the meat was fatty and a thin couple of slices, the veg looked like it’d been sitting there all day, the roast potatoes were not crispy and the gravy was like water . All in all very disappointing, it used to be so nice to eat there, however we will never go there again .

We had a meal here Saturday night and, whilst most of it was perfectly fine, the Cajan flat iron steak was a real disappointment. At £25, I expected much better value. The steak was no bigger than a beefburger and had been cut into strips, which unfortunately gave the impression it was done to disguise just how small the portion actually was. What made it more frustrating was that when asked if everything was okay, I honestly explained my concerns. The server was lovely and very polite, but nothing was done about the issue. There's little point in asking for feedback if, when a customer raises a genuine concern, no action is taken. Overall, the meal was acceptable, but the poor value of the steak and the lack of response to the complaint left us feeling disappointed.
