View on Google MapsEight Byre is a converted barn on a private courtyard at Dickinson Place, near Maryport. You arrive into a single ground-floor space where living, dining and kitchen merge into one room, with a separate bedroom and bathroom off to the side. The double bed measures 4ft 6in; there's a bath with shower, and the kitchen has an electric oven, hob and microwave for self-catering. Wifi, heating, linen and towels come as standard. One small to medium dog is welcome.
The property sits on a coastal caravan park with on-site parking for one car. Shared facilities include a games room (pool table, table football) and laundry room, both with a small charge. Outside is a shared garden with seating. Allonby itself is a small coastal village on the Solway Firth, backed by the Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. The beach is sandy, and there are walking routes along the shore. The nearest school is Allonby Primary.

Just had 4 Days at the Engine House, A Great find and perfect in every way, house was Spotlessly clean, full of character, warm and had everything you need, great location with some cracking Pub Lunches along the way! The cottages are full of charm—spotlessly clean, beautifully maintained, and thoughtfully equipped with everything you might need. You can tell there's a lot of care and pride put into every detail, from the cozy furnishings to the little personal touches that made it feel like home.

The place was so lovely and clean we stayed in the engine house it was lovely and spacious with very nice rooms and comfy beds. The place is run by a very nice family and the town is beautiful.
