The bedroom upstairs is galleried, with a super king bed and its own bathroom fitted with a bath and heated towel rail. A second shower room serves the ground floor. The kitchen is equipped for self-catering—electric oven, hob, dishwasher and washer-dryer mean you can cook proper meals or do laundry on a quiet break.

Heating, electricity, bed linen, towels and wifi are all included; logs for the woodburner come with the property. The enclosed garden has seating and is fenced, making it secure if you're bringing a dog—one pet is welcome here. Castle Carrock village is a mile's walk away and has a country pub. From the estate, footpaths lead into Gelt Woods and up Carrock Fell, and Brampton, the nearest market town, sits 4 miles off. The area falls within an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty; you'll see woodpeckers and pheasants in the grounds, sometimes red squirrels. No smoking indoors.
