Low Moat

Low Moat is a detached cottage on a working farm between Carlisle and the Scottish border, with everything on ground level and a private hot tub. One bedroom with a king bed, one bathroom, and open-plan living and kitchen – enough for two people to move around without treading on each other. The kitchen has an electric oven, hob, microwave, dishwasher and fridge. There is parking for two cars on site and a bike store if you want to explore the quieter lanes.

The back garden is enclosed with a courtyard, seating area, garden furniture and a barbecue. The hot tub overlooks this space and comes with the booking at no extra cost. Electricity, wi-fi, bed linen and towels are included. One dog can stay free; smoking is not permitted inside.

From here you can reach Gretna Green in eight miles, Longtown in four, and the Solway Coast, Lake District and Northumberland are all within driving distance. It is a setting for cycling through country lanes or walking, with the place itself quiet enough that stargazing is possible at night.
