What guests say
A truly authentic English experience, full of elegance and exceptional attention to detail. My partner and I travelled from Australia and loved our stay so much that we extended it to five nights, using it as the perfect base to explore Cumbria. Both our room and the entire residences and surrounds had everything we could have wished for. Reliable Wi-Fi, lovely relaxing conservatory, peaceful garden views, spacious, comfortable reading lounge, a small in-room fridge, access to microwave, beautifull gardens to wander through, and stunning views of the surrounding hills. The breakfast was the best we have enjoyed in the UK. Every morning reflected the hosts' care and attention to detail, making us feel genuinely welcomed. If you're looking for a memorable stay that combines comfort, charm, and outstanding hospitality, we couldn't recommend it more highly.

This B and B could have been a film set for Riders! It's definitely 5 star. Rooms are spotless with, a jug of real milk for tea kept in the fridge. Very pleasing. Very well done. No expense spared. Sadly no dogs allowed but plenty space for parking and walks. A great host to greet us with tips for eating out locally. A lucky find!

Beautiful guest house! Had a lovely room with a comfy bed. En suite with electric shower. Tea and coffee making facilities, with a jug of milk in the room fridge. Unfortunately there was no decaf tea or coffee in the room, but I'm sure it would have been provided had I gone down and asked. Lovely breakfast. Cereal, fruit, yoghurt, toast and a cooked breakfast are available. The guest house is pretty much in the middle of nowhere, so you need a vehicle. The nearest place to go out and eat is about a 15min drive away at The Hidden River Cafe (it's more of a restaurant than a cafe) and the food is delicious! We enjoyed our stay very much and would definitely book again if we're up that way.

It's out of the way, but man oh man it's worth it! I came across it browsing for a B&B for a week down near Carlisle. What a gem of a place!! It's a multi award winning place and you can see why. Wonderful rooms, clean, spacious, fantastic food, the family who run it are delightful. My wife and I will be using it every time we're down in the area from now on.
