You arrive at Scalelands Cottage to find everything on one level: a living and dining room that opens onto the fells at the rear, a kitchen fitted with a cooker, range, microwave, dishwasher and washing machine, two double bedrooms, and a bathroom with a walk-in shower. Essentials like bed linen, towels, electricity and wi-fi are provided. The cottage sits in a small hamlet between two villages, each roughly a mile away with shops and convenience stores, while a pub and restaurant are about a quarter-mile further on the main road.
Outside there is private parking for two cars and a large enclosed garden with a terrace, seating and a sun-trap aspect across the fields. The setting puts you within easy reach of Ennerdale, the Western Lakes and the Cumbrian coast; St Bees Head is a natural draw. Cleator Moor itself is on the fringe of the Lake District National Park. The cottage does not permit smoking.
