The Retreat

Wast Water's dramatic fells dominate the view from The Retreat, a ground-floor apartment in the heart of Wasdale valley. The steep slopes of The Screes rise behind the property, and on foot you can reach the lake shore to walk beneath England's highest peaks. Muncaster Castle, with its gardens and birds of prey displays, lies a short drive away. A free seasonal bus service stops outside the apartment, connecting to Wasdale Head, Ravenglass and nearby villages from Easter through October.

The layout is all on one level: an open-plan living and kitchen area with a 32" Smart TV and Netflix, two bedrooms (one double, one twin), and a walk-in shower room. The kitchen has an electric oven and hob for proper cooking. Wi-Fi, electricity, bed linen and towels are included. You have private parking for two cars and an enclosed garden area. The water comes from a treated river supply.

The apartment sleeps four and suits couples or families looking to walk. It is no-smoking. Check-in is after 3pm and checkout before 10am.
