The Stables

This converted stone building retains the character of its agricultural past while delivering straightforward modern comfort. The Stables sits near Silloth on the Solway coast, in open countryside where sheep graze the fields around it. The structure works across two floors: downstairs holds the living space with kitchen, dining area opening to the garden, and a shower room; upstairs are two bedrooms—a double and a single—plus a study. One dog can stay free, though it must remain on a lead throughout (the surrounding land is working farmland). Parking for one car is on site.

The kitchen is properly equipped for self-catering, with electric cooking, a fridge and washing machine, and all the essentials provided. The rear garden has seating and furniture for outdoor use. Wi-Fi, heating and hot water are included. You have the whole property to yourself, arriving after 3pm and leaving before 9am. The nearest pub is within walking distance; Allonby village, two miles away, has restaurants and cafés. Maryport with its maritime and Roman museums lies eight miles south. The Solway shoreline is close by for coastal walks, and the wider Lake District is within reach for a day out. No smoking inside.
