What visitors say
Absolutely fabulous and very unexpected. A local friend suggested my husband I visit while on a recent visit to St Andrews. We took the bus from St A and there is a stop right in front of the Deer Centre. We discovered many animals are on the verge of extinction and/or are rescued from terrible ownership conditions. Although the latter is hard to comprehend, I can say they all have a good home here and the park-like grounds are a good habitat for them and easy to get around. I took some wonderful photos, but many capture children that I don’t have permission to post, but this is such a child friendly place it’s hard to get a shot without a darling child having fun in it! All in all a great day for us and just perfect for a family. Take a picnic and children with lots of energy, for there’s much to see and for them to do here. Bonus: they learn about nature, the importance of caring for animals, and build confidence.

We’ve been visiting The Deer Centre for years and have never had a single fault to find with this place, it’s always been such a lovely day out. But last weekend, we experienced something that really showed just how wonderful your team is. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ My 12 year-old daughter was stung multiple times by a wasp (making tiktoks with friend🙄) and was absolutely distraught. We went over to the crepe stand in the park just to ask for some tissues for her tears, and the kind guy there immediately insistedwegetherseenproperly(I’m so sorry I don’t know your name) but thank you. He got us help straight away, and the 1st first aider who looked after us was simply amazing. She was was so calm, funny and caring, even tho she was helping my daughter, she was also assisting another young girl who’d fallen straight after 💪, and handled both situations with total professionalism. Then the second first aider wanted to double check my daughter’s arm as the swelling was spreading. Did she not actually run the whole way as first aid shuttle was blocked at gates, and didn’t even seem out of breath when she got to us, it was pretty impressive. Later on, my daughter was checked over again by her mum, and I honestly don’t have the words to describe this lady, how kind, gentle and absolutely hilarious she was which kept lucy at ease. Everyone kept my daughter smiling and calm the whole time, and she even got a lift back in the buggy. They stayed a while as swelling was growing, cold compress giving and was gave advice to seek professional help docs or a&e. (Lucy's happy she got out of dancing). Thank you all so much ❤️, you went above and beyond, and we will never forget how well you looked after us and planning to come back this week. You’re all an absolute credit to The Deer Centre.

A nice wee half day visit, it would be hard to spend a full day. Beautiful animals, friendly, helpful staff in a slightly tired, shabby park. On the day we visited the entry fee was whatever you felt you could pay, but the normal fee is £20.50, plus £3.50 for a bag of food for the deer. We paid it because we felt we could but in my opinion it's too expensive. I'd suggest £13 a head would be acceptable. There's lots of distractions for wee ones. The falconry display was great, the presenter was brilliant and the (3) birds were very impressive, but it was a bit short. As well as various types of deer there were brown bears which were very impressive, pigs and capybaras, there may have been lynx and wild cats but we couldn't see them, there were supposed to be wolves but apparently they were away somewhere. Two lovely friendly donkeys too. It could be a lovely place, but if they want recommendations they need to up their game. It wouldn't take much to polish it up. The "pay what you can afford" is a great idea which i hope they keep but their recommended entry fee is too high for what it is at present. We enjoyed it and there were a good few people there. I'd say go but unless you're very well off don't pay £20 quid a head.

Great experience, harrier jet, birds of prey experience and play areas(outdoors) all great. Not to mention the deer, wildcats, pigs, bears and more. Kids loved it. Only issue is there are alot of stingy nettles low to the ground. We had a two year old with us and had to be super cautious where they went because of it. I would expect them to be cut back near the paths. Otherwise great though
