About Browns Hotel Dartmouth
Browns occupies a Georgian townhouse on Victoria Road, a couple of minutes' walk from Dartmouth's waterfront, and trades on the kind of personal, slightly theatrical style that comes from being run by its owners rather than a chain. The ground floor combines a wine bar, a small gallery of local artwork and a restaurant, all decorated with the same confident use of colour and pattern that continues upstairs into the bedrooms.
The nine bedrooms are individually designed rather than standardised, ranging from compact Comfort rooms to larger Premium rooms such as the Blue Room and Green Room, each with its own character and a mix of antique and contemporary furniture. The restaurant's menu leans on Devon produce, and the wine bar regularly hosts events, including a long-running jazz club that draws a local as well as visiting crowd.
Its central position means Dartmouth's shops, galleries and the harbourside are all within a short stroll, making Browns a good fit for visitors who want boutique styling without leaving the old town.
