Ashbourne sits within easy reach of some of Derbyshire's most rewarding countryside. The market town itself has shops and cafés, the Rose & Crown is a short walk away, and beyond that are the limestone villages and moorland of the Peak District—Bakewell and Matlock are close by, while Haddon Hall and Chatsworth House lie within a short drive. April Cottage makes a practical base for exploring all of this, with space for three guests across two bedrooms and a bathroom upstairs.
The ground floor holds a living and dining room with a woodburner and TV, plus a kitchen equipped for proper cooking. Heating and hot water are provided, along with bed linen, towels and wi-fi. There is parking for one car on site and an electric charging point. A sitting area outside has garden furniture. The cottage has steep internal stairs, which is worth knowing before booking. Smoking is not permitted indoors.
This works well for walkers and cyclists keen to make the most of the surrounding countryside, or for anyone wanting a quieter break without straying far from useful amenities.
