East Meadow is a stone cottage built in the Victorian era, set in the Derbyshire Dales with direct access to the surrounding Peak District landscape. The building retains its period character while offering modern comfort for a self-catering stay. Two bedrooms—one double, one twin—occupy the upper floor, with a bathroom fitted with both bath and shower. Downstairs, a sitting room with television opens into a dining space that leads through to the kitchen, which is equipped for cooking full meals rather than basic heating of tins.

The whole property is yours alone, sleeping up to four guests. One dog is welcome. Bed linen, towels, electricity and wifi are included; there is car parking on site. The cottage has a private garden, useful for morning coffee or an evening sit-down after time on the hills. No smoking indoors.

Matlock itself lies close by, as does Matlock Bath. The Winster to Bonsall walking route starts nearby, and numerous Peak District attractions fall within easy reach: Haddon Hall, Chatsworth House, the Mining Museum, and other regional draws. The village of Winster has a shop and pubs, though Bakewell with its wider range of food and retail is also accessible for a short drive.

A fantastic site ran by welcoming hosts Richard and Kate, who can’t do enough for you. I have visited several times and the site is always impeccably maintained with regular refinements made to the sites setup. Very nice walk through the quarry into Wirksworth, across the field to the High Peak trail (bike hire available at Middleton top) and plenty to do in Matlock which is a short drive away, also Carsington Water just down the road. They also really do go the extra mile on the themed weekends, 100% recommend!

Absolutely love this place. It's my happy place. We regularly take our caravan there and pitch "off grid" because that's what we're happy with. Electric is available on some pitches if needed but you only pay for what you use as it is metered. The owners are lovely and nothing seems to be too much trouble. It is an own sanitation site that is geared up for caravans or motorhomes but you have your own facilities so use them. You will not get an all singing and dancing site for the price you pay here. Great base for local attractions. This site is a true gem and I would happily double the star rating to 10/10 if I could.

Stayed here a few times now, a great site that’s being improved all the time, fantastic welcoming hosts and nothing too much trouble. The breakfast/ coffees and cakes are lovely and at a good price. A great location and a ten minute walk to the local pub. Stayed on the top rally field a couple of times and also on the electric hook up pitches aswell, back up there again for may bank holiday weekend for one of there own rally’s and looking forward to it. Well done Richard & Kate on a fantastic site

🌟HIGHLY RECOMMENDED🌟 Super clean site that is always maintained immaculately. The walks and views you get from this site are brilliant. On a clear night which is pretty much every night you can often see shooting stars. The owners always make you feel welcomed and will help in anyway they can if needed. This is now my go to place. It does not disappoint
