Mawstone Mine Cottage is a detached single-storey property built in 1880 as a lead mine office and blacksmith's forge, now renovated as a self-catering base for two. Everything you need for a stay is on the ground floor: a living room with wood-burning stove and Smart TV, a kitchen with electric oven, hob, dishwasher, fridge, freezer and microwave, one bedroom with a kingsize bed, and a shower room with heated towel rail. Wi-Fi, electricity, bed linen and towels are all included, and there is private parking for two cars on site. One well-behaved pet stays free.
The cottage sits just outside Youlgrave, a village built from local stone in the heart of the Derbyshire Dales. Lathkill Dale and Bradford Dale—famous for their rivers, limestone cliffs and walking paths—begin near the property. The village itself has a pub, a local shop, and easy access to the wider Peak District. Bakewell, known for its market, riverside walks and traditional shops, is within driving distance. The property has a patio and garden area, and uses a natural spring water supply. No smoking indoors.
