Wild Flower Cottage

Derbyshire Dales

View on Google Maps

Youlgreave sits in the heart of the Peak District, a village known for managing its own water supply and surrounded by countryside that draws walkers and cyclists year-round. Wild Flower Cottage is a traditional terraced cottage here, sleeping four across two bedrooms—a king and a double—with one bathroom. The ground floor contains the living room with woodburner and Freeview TV, plus a kitchen/dining room equipped for self-catering, with a washer dryer if you need it. Electricity, bed linen and towels are included; initial logs for the fire come free, with more available locally.

The cottage opens onto an enclosed garden with decking, lawn and BBQ furniture—a place to sit out in warmer months or watch the sunset with a drink. Youlgreave itself has a pub within a mile and a couple of shops. Bradford Dale, the source of the village's water, is a short walk away and has a natural swimming pool for those willing to take the plunge. The market town of Bakewell, home to Chatsworth House and Haddon Hall, lies 15 minutes' drive, as does the Monsal Trail from Bakewell—a traffic-free cycling route towards Buxton. Alton Towers is roughly 45 minutes away. Note that access to the garden involves eight steps, and the cottage has narrow stairs inside.
