The Derbyshire Dales offer some of the most rewarding walking country in the East Midlands, with the Peak District close by and local trails leading to waterfalls and open moorland. Ramblers Retreat sits on the grounds of a private lake, giving the property a genuinely peaceful setting—though the lake itself belongs to neighbours and isn't accessible without permission. A pub lies within a mile, and Matlock Bath, with its cable car rides and riverside attractions, is nearby for days when you want more activity.
The lodge is a single storey, self-contained building sleeping two in a king bed, with one bathroom featuring a walk-in shower. The open plan living area combines lounge, dining and kitchen in one space; from here, doors lead onto a courtyard patio with garden furniture and a barbecue. The kitchen has an electric cooker and microwave for cooking proper meals. Electricity, bed linen and towels are included, along with heating throughout. A private hot tub (available by arrangement with the owner) sits on the grounds, and you can park two cars on site.
This works well for couples and those travelling with one pet. The setting suits anyone who wants to walk straight out into countryside without the distraction of a busy village. No smoking inside the property.
