Ashford-in-the-Water sits on the River Wye in the Peak District, surrounded by walking country and close enough to reach Bakewell, Buxton and Matlock by car. The village itself has two pubs, a tea room, restaurant and shop, plus a church with medieval origins. The stone bridge here is one of Britain's most photographed.
Whibberley Cottage is a three-bedroom, one-bathroom terraced property that sleeps four. A former barn dating to the 1700s, it has exposed beams, a gritstone fireplace with wood burner, and an enclosed courtyard with seating and a barbecue. The ground floor holds the living and dining room, a kitchen equipped for proper cooking, and a shower room. Upstairs are three bedrooms: a double, a three-quarter double and a single. Bed linen, towels, wi-fi and electricity are all included, along with initial fuel for the fire and a welcome pack. The kitchen has a range, dishwasher and all the usual kit. There is bike storage on site and parking on road or in the nearby public car park. The property is non-smoking and not suitable for children under four years old.
