About Foxcote

Perched on the Devon-Cornwall border between Holsworthy and Launceston, Foxcote offers the best of both worlds with spectacular views rolling across Devon's fields and valleys. This tiny eco-conscious site runs on green principles – eco products in the showers, recycling facilities, and wildflower meadows left uncut to encourage visiting woodpeckers, buzzards and hedgehogs. The communal washing-up area includes tea and coffee facilities plus a microwave for reheating your fish-and-chip haul.

Quiet rural lanes make for peaceful strolls or bike rides, and the village of Ashwater sits five minutes' drive away with a convenience store and pub (walkable in 25 minutes, though the return leg may take longer after a pint or two). A couple of house rules: don't feed the resident horses, and keep dogs on leads due to neighbouring sheep. With firepits, optional electric hook-ups and that border-straddling location, it's a well-placed base for exploring two counties at once.

Had the pleasure of staying in this stunning house the May bank holiday. We were a large group of 12 - from 2.5 to 75 years old. The house is in a great spot to explore the cotswolds more - cheltenham, burton-on-the-water etc. But the house is so well set up you really dont need to leave. As the weather was so good we were able to make full use of the pool, hot tub, tennis court and play area on site. The games room is very well set up aswell. The house has plenty of utensils and crockery for the large group with us. The house its self has so much space with very spacious rooms with very comfortable beds. Plenty of bathrooms and showers for all staying. Due to the lay out it is a great house for hide and seek with the kids! Even with a large group we were not on top of each other they're was so much room in the house. The grounds are stunning and very well maintained. Only slight downside is the bbq provided is not as shown in pictures and was much smaller, also area with the zip line was very over grown with brambles so couldn't access it. We really enjoyed our stay here and made some great memories during our time here. We would definitely stay here again.
