About Roadford Lake
Roadford Lake sits on the edge of Devon's largest reservoir, offering a proper outdoors-focused camping break amid rolling countryside near Okehampton. The site provides straightforward electric hook-ups, hot showers and all the essentials, plus it welcomes dogs year-round—making it a flexible base whatever the season.
What sets it apart is the on-your-doorstep access to cycling trails, walking routes and watersports on the lake itself, ideal for families who want to get active without driving anywhere first. The setting feels genuinely rural, though some visitors note facilities can feel a touch tired in places—it's more about the location and outdoor possibilities than polished glamping comforts.

What visitors say
Lovely place to walk and enjoy the scenery. Café was good, a little limited but happy to make up sandwiches mixing their ingredients. Very helpful. Lovely staff. Although we were a bit late to get some tea to have inside they were obliging and gave us takeaway cups which we were able to drink inside while they cleared up. Very good.

There were some nice walks by the water and through the woods. There is a good sized car park costing £5 for the whole day. There is a cafe and toilets. This would be a good place to bring children or to walk the dog. There were places to hire wetsuits and windsurfing gear. No swimming allowed.
