About Secret Skies Retreat

These smart adults-only cabins nestle in the Devon countryside between Tiverton and South Molton, offering romantic escapes for couples and their dogs. Each pod is surprisingly well-equipped – think Belfast sink kitchens, full-height showers, kingsize beds with breakfast bars tucked behind the headboards, and private hot tubs on securely fenced patios. Thoughtful touches like dressing gowns, slippers and complimentary coffee pods add a boutique feel, while firepits with barbecue racks make the most of those Exmoor sunsets.

The Two Moors Way footpath runs directly from the site, perfect for walkers wanting to explore the coast-to-coast trail without a car journey. North Devon's beaches are around 45 minutes away via the A361. A few guests note the cabins can feel snug if you're used to more space, but most find the compact layout charming rather than cramped – and the views over private gardens to rolling fields more than compensate.

We had the most wonderful stay at Secret Skies and I honestly do not think I have ever experienced a view like this from a glamping cabin before. Waking up to endless views across the downs was breathtaking, with horses grazing nearby and rolling countryside stretching as far as the eye could see. The hot tub was a real highlight, perfectly positioned with the same uninterrupted view you wake up to from bed, making it hard to leave at any point of the day. The sense of privacy was exceptional. There was no need to close the curtains or feel overlooked at any time, and the fully enclosed garden made it completely dog friendly and stress free. Every amenity you could possibly need had been thoughtfully provided, with clear attention to detail throughout the cabin. The hosts were outstanding and genuinely could not do enough for us, nothing felt like too much trouble. Parking was ample, the location was easy to find, and there were gorgeous walks straight from the doorstep. Having animals on site added to the magic, especially the beautiful horses and sheep nearby. If you are looking for absolute privacy, stunning views, and a truly special place to switch off, this is it.

Stunning views and perfect for a romantic getaway. The pod is tiny but has everything you’d need, good coffee, equipped kitchen and lots of small details which made a huge difference (dressing gowns, slippers, blankets, marshmallows etc) The hot tub was amazing and had few settings of intensity and lighting for the evening. Nice fire pit with a table and chairs outside for quiet dinners. You get full privacy and a magnificent view from the pod/garden. We did not take the dog with us as I wasn’t sure, but there is an enclosed garden to keep your dog safe and beautiful surroundings for long walks. The pod was clean and everything decorated with taste. The town is not far for any food collection and not far as well to the coast. The only suggestion would be to change the check-in/checkout times. You have to check in after 4 pm and check out before 10 am which is a pity. I understand the hotel with 100+ rooms needs this time in between to clean the rooms, but there are just 2 pods and no need to take all of this time. We stayed 2 nights, but for anyone who would book just one night, it’s no value for money as no time to enjoy the hot tub, views and time for relaxation. Other than that, everything was perfect and was nice to be greeted by Alex when we arrived even just for a minute, nice of the owners to offer full privacy to their guests.

A very relaxing and private weekend away. My partner and I stayed for 2 Nights in February and we would definitely go back. The setting is on a lovely small holding on the edge of Exmoor which was very quiet and had beautiful views across fields without being overlooked. Everything was finished to a high quality including the hot tub, and being provided robes and slippers was a lovely extra. The hosts had great communication and we were happy to come and go as we pleased.

Had a gorgeous weekend at Secret Skies, beautiful surroundings and very private. The cabin itself feels very luxurious, lovely touches throughout, quality bed linen and towels. We went in December during the snow, but the cabin was warm and cosy, the hot tub in the snow felt very special. A truly relaxing weekend, we’ve booked again for the spring!
