Large holiday park in Barnstaple, Devon with showers on 130 pitches.

About Tarka Holiday Park

Tarka Holiday Park is a substantial site near Barnstaple with 130 pitches spread across its grounds. The scale means there is always a mix of activity on site, though pitches are distributed widely enough that you are not crammed in with neighbours.

Facilities are basic: showers are available, though the site does not offer the fuller amenities you might find elsewhere. The park sits on Braunton Road, giving straightforward road access to the town and surrounding area. For campers wanting a larger, busier holiday park rather than a quiet retreat, the number of pitches here means there is plenty going on.

I wouldn't advise bringing children here as there is nothing to do for them. A small dog walking area and small park. Just couple of swings and a small.climbing frame. Park is next to main road, although can get buses from outside the park but have to cross the main road when dropped off. Internet isn't very good, drops out quite a lot. Caravan wasn't amazingly clean, blinds need dusting, and cushions should be moved as they are disgusting behind them. Caravan is nice other then that and some of the staff are friendly and helpful. Liked the extra touches with, sweets and activities book for grandson and treats for dogs. I would choose this park if you are a bit older and just want to chill with dogs. Wouldn't advise taking children. I have had other better experience with other park holidays and I should have done my homework about the site instead of looking at photos, which made me believe there were walks to do around the park. Grounds maintenance is really good and ground maintenance man, ( didn't get his name) was very nice and helpful.

Nice quiet site. Beautiful accommodation. The only let down was the lack of places to walk with the dog. The site is right on the side of a dual carriageway with no footpaths. There is one public footpath through the site but it's a long way round to find the Tarka trail. Which was one of the main reasons booked.

Lovely park. Nice and clean. Not really for children as there's nothing to do. I would say more for the older generations who want peace and quiet. There is a lovely garden centre/cafe/farm shop just 2mins away which is well worth a visit and the tarka trail is just across the road for those who like a walk or bike ride. Staff are friendly and helpful.. Could do with a little shop selling essentials otherwise it's a drive into town for milk etc..

I visited my brother here, and live local, this place is Maintained very well, cute rabbits in the park area! The holiday homes are so well put together and the attention to detail, and decor is that extra mile that makes it worth the money! Over all. Great place would go again
