Clifftop pitches on the Lulworth Estate, minutes from the arch itself

About Durdle Door Holiday Park

Durdle Door Holiday Park occupies high ground on the Lulworth Estate, within a short walk of the iconic limestone arch and about twenty minutes on foot from Lulworth Cove. The South West Coast Path runs along the cliff edge below, and the setting—on open downland with sweeping coastal views—is the main draw. Pitches are exposed, so bring solid pegs and pitch with prevailing winds in mind.

Camping areas are separate from the static section. The Rookery takes smaller tents (up to six people, one car), while grass and hardstanding touring pitches offer electric hook-up. Rebuilt facilities include accessible showers, toilets and washing-up areas with USB charging. On site you'll find a shop, takeaway, bar-restaurant, heated outdoor pool in season and a children's play area. Dogs are welcome on touring pitches.

Book well ahead—summer weekends go months in advance and prices reflect the demand. The walk down to Durdle Door beach is steep and stepped; the return climb with beach gear or tired children can feel punishing. The site closes in winter, and it's worth checking if Lulworth firing ranges to the east are active before setting off that way.

We stayed in a campervan on one of the sea view pitches, and the views were absolutely incredible, just as expected. The shower and toilet facilities were spotlessly clean (and air-conditioned!), although they were a bit of a walk from the sea view pitches. There’s a public toilet much closer, used by visitors to Durdle Door, which is open 24 hours. However, these aren’t managed or cleaned by the campsite, so they can be a bit hit and miss. We’d definitely stay here again.

Location is great of you want to visit Durdle Door. We stayed in our campervan on a touring pitch. The pitches were a good size with hedges both sides which made for some nice privacy. The only gripe we had was the 2pm pitch time. You have to leave your pitch at 11am so they're sat empty for 3 hours. An earlier pitch time would have made our stay even better.

We loved our stay at The Dairy. The location is superb, free parking here and the associated locations (Durdle Door, Lulworth Castle, Lulworth Cove) was great. The weather was hot so we were visiting places or in the pool most of the time. If it had been less nice weather we'd have made more use of the games room. The only negative was how hot it was in the cottage with no air-con (we brought our own fans), so maybe that's something that can be added in future.

When I first found it, I was a bit unsure as the place didn’t seem to have many reviews and maybe seemed a bit too good to be true, considering both the prices and the location, I even went as far as to looking up google maps photos of the place. Happy to confirm it is real and it is absolutely fantastic! Close enough that you can get up with the sun and walk to Durdle Door to watch the sunrise or stay long enough to do a bit of stargazing. If you go for a shepherds hut or camping and need to use the shower/toilets facilities - could not be cleaner and better organised. The place is so quiet and peaceful. You wake up surrounded by songbird, the air smells of both forest and the sea, the restaurant on site offers great food and the people there could not be nicer and more lovely.
