Stayed last night. Pub is lovely and clean and well maintained. Huge back for camping with all facilities. Inside is new but kept its rustic charm. Clean, bright and lovely. Staff are amazing. Food is great, local and delicious. Rooms are spacious enough. Clean and welcoming. Bathrooms need a touch up, refurb but theres a shower and every is clean and working. Would come back again easily

A lovely pub, with a campsite behind it. Plenty of good ales and ciders on tap. An extensive menu with some fine looking dishes. We had a full english breakfast which was perfect. They open for breakfast from 9am ,as it was a Sunday that was spot on. Great staff , well worth a stopover.

We visited yesterday for the quiz and unfortunately had a very disappointing experience. When we arrived, we were told there would be a 30–40 minute wait for food, which we were happy to accept. We ordered salt & pepper squid, onion rings, beef burnt ends, and gluten-free halloumi fries to share, and for my main I ordered the "Jamaican Me Crazy" burger. In reality, we waited around 1 hour and 30 minutes for our food. When it finally arrived, the service was completely disorganised. The mains were brought out to the table at different times, and then the starters arrived after I had already been served my main course. The food itself wasn't much better. I ordered the "Jamaican Me Crazy" burger, which turned out to be one of the hottest things I've ever eaten (and I regularly enjoy spicy food). There was no indication anywhere on the menu that it was intended to be an extremely hot dish, so it came as a complete surprise. The salt & pepper squid was also far hotter than expected. When I politely asked at the bar why the burger was so spicy, rather than receiving an explanation or apology, I was told that spice is a matter of perspective and that the staff member could eat a vindaloo "like it's nothing." That response felt dismissive and completely missed the point. The worst part of the evening, however, was that one member of our group has celiac disease and had ordered the gluten-free halloumi fries + a main (GF burger). Unfortunately, they became ill due to what appeared to be gluten contamination and had to leave before the quiz had even finished. This is far more than just poor service. Long waits can happen, but poor organisation, dismissive customer service, and what appears to be unsafe handling of gluten-free food made this a very disappointing experience. Sadly, we won't be returning.

We camped here and had the mixed platter from the new smokery menu. It was huge! Absolutely delicious selection of meat cooked to perfection. Pork belly, ribs, chicken wings and beef brisket with sides. Would wholeheartedly recommend. Campsite was nice too!!!
