About Purbeck Valley Farmhouse
Tucked into Dorset's Purbeck Hills, this friendly farm campsite delivers knockout views of Corfe Castle and rolling countryside from your pitch. The location is genuinely special – you're in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty with direct footpath access to local trails, plus Harman's Cross steam railway station is a five-minute stroll for scenic trips to Swanage and Corfe. Wareham and the coast are both around 10 minutes by car, while gorgeous sandy beaches at Studland, Lulworth Cove and Durdle Door are all within half an hour's drive.
Facilities are fairly straightforward – clean toilets, showers, washing-up area and recycling – but the spacious grass pitches (available with or without electric) and freedom to have campfires and barbecues more than compensate. Note that dogs aren't permitted here, which keeps it peaceful for families. The on-site shop and garage a couple of minutes away are handy for essentials, and there are pubs in nearby Corfe Castle when you fancy a meal out.

Spot on peaceful campsite, no disturbance, no large groups of nuisances whilst staying at this clean site, showers clean and hot enough, close enough to all local attractions. The lady welcomed me quick chat, enough to feel welcomed No piles of rubbish around bins & recycling area cleaned daily. Will use again

Would not recommend unless you have no other suitable alternative. We booked / paid in advance, turned up within the allotted time, but the lady who greeted us at the gate gave us a very cold welcome and left us with a bad first impression. We were made to feel like we were an inconvenience to her despite us being polite and friendly. She took note of our arrival, pointed to the field and toilets, and scooted off. We would have liked to hear more about the local area or the facilities, but more disappointingly she did not even thank us for staying (and paying). Other than that, the facilities are just okay, the location is okay, but we mainly feel out of pocket due to the bitter service we received. Would not recommend unless there is no alternative.

Review of campsite as there's no separate listing. Great location and nice to be able to rent fire pits. Spacious too. It's worth picking where you pitch well. We pitched in the flat (but a bit boggy) bit in the middle and it's very exposed to any wind. Much better near the hedges in that respect. Site is basic, very basic. No sinks for washing/shaving. No hot water for washing up (pro tip, fill up washing up bowl from the showers). There's also only one tap for the whole field, 6 unlit toilets for the whole field. We managed the weekend ok but would have been hard work for a week.
