Gapple Gate

Gapple Gate is a stone cottage built to last, sitting in Sherborne with the character that comes from genuine age and solid construction. The house is yours alone—two bedrooms, two bathrooms, and space to spread out. Downstairs there's a living room with Freeview, a dining room, and a kitchen with an electric cooker, dishwasher, microwave and fridge. Upstairs, one bedroom has a double bed with its own shower room; the other has two singles. The main bathroom offers a bath with shower over it.

Essentials are covered: electricity, bed linen and Wi-Fi are included. You have private parking for two cars on site and a garden with a sitting-out area. No smoking indoors. The garden contains a small unfenced pond, which matters if you're travelling with young children. Sherborne itself has the abbey and medieval streets within reach; the Rose & Crown is nearby for an evening out. Walkers will find the surrounding countryside laced with footpaths, and the Jurassic Coast is a reasonable drive away if you want a change of scene.
