Hazel Cottage

Hazel Cottage is a single-storey cottage in rural Dorset, two miles from Blandford Forum. The Jurassic Coast lies within a reasonable drive—Durdle Door and Lulworth Cove are among the more famous stretches—while the New Forest, with its wild ponies, is accessible for a day out. Several National Trust properties sit nearby: Kingston Lacy House, Hod Hill, Hardy's Cottage and the Cerne Abbas Giant. Blandford itself has the Royal Signals Museum, a fashion museum, a brewery offering tours, and the usual cafés and shops. Wimborne's Model Town shows how the area looked in the 1950s.

The whole property is yours alone. Everything happens on the ground floor: an open-plan living and dining space with Freeview TV, a kitchen fitted with electric oven, gas hob, microwave and dishwasher, a double bedroom, and a shower room. You get Wi-Fi, bed linen, towels and heating included. Outside is a private courtyard garden with patio furniture and a barbecue, plus a hot tub for two. Off-street parking for one car is provided. The property does not accommodate smoking.

One dog or cat stays free. Nearby you'll find a pub two miles away, restaurants at a mile and a half, and a shop at two and a half miles. The beach is eighteen miles off. Cycling routes follow the North Dorset Trailway, and Gorcombe offers go-karting, archery and an assault course for those wanting something more active.
