White Horse Farm - Otter’s Holt

Photo: White Horse Farm

White Horse Farm – Otter's Holt is a three-bedroom cottage sleeping six, set within grounds that span two acres near Sherborne. The property comes with everything needed for self-catering: a kitchen fitted with an electric oven, gas hob, dishwasher and all the usual appliances; heating and hot water included; bed linen and towels provided; and wifi throughout. There's free parking for two cars on site.

The layout is straightforward. A spacious ground-floor living area contains a sofa bed, television and wood-burning stove. The kitchen-dining space leads to three bedrooms: one double with an ensuite shower, and two pairs of singles. A separate bathroom has a bath with shower. One dog is welcome and stays free. The enclosed garden with decked patio and furniture offers a private outdoor space, though there is a step up to the patio itself. The property sits in a rural spot between Sherborne and Dorchester, with Cerne Abbas four miles away.

Our recent holiday in Moleys cottage was excellent, the cottage is very comfortable and has everything needed to make your stay pleasant. Our two dogs loved the paddock area, it is completely fenced off which is a comfort knowing that they can run around. The hosts Stuart and Audrey are delighted, on arrival we were welcome with fresh hen eggs and a delicious cake. The cottage was also supplied with tea, coffee, sugar and milk. Bed linen and towels were also included. White Horse Farm is a good base to go exploring from, highly recommend Cerne Abbas (great for dog walking) and Sherborne Castle. We will definitely be returning.

A great place to stay and ideal for exploring everything on offer. The accommodation may not be modern but it's clean reliable and offers all the essentials. A real cottage feel to the place. The hosts were friendly and went out of their way to make us feel welcomed. There's a pub right next door that offers fresh local food that has a standard hard to beat. Each and every day we explored the local towns and exhibits from Monkey World, Sea Life to museums, Dorchester, Yeovil and Weymouth to name but a few.

Thoroughly enjoyed the weekend break, it was the first family break with our dog Rosie. Upon arrival we were greeted warmly by the couple that run the place, they gave us a tour of the place and gave us some chickens eggs and a delicious homemade lemon cake. The facilities were well equipped and they thought of everything, the place was clean and cosy and we absolutely enjoyed the cabin with the side garden and also the barbecue hut . We definitely would like to rebook in the future.
