About Bridgewood

Tucked into six acres of the ancient 70-acre Bridge Wood near Sherborne, Bridgewood offers proper wilderness camping with tall trees overhead and woodland trails winding through the site. It's a genuinely remote-feeling spot where den-making and bushcraft are part of the experience, helped along by firepits for the evening (kept well-contained, naturally). Facilities are intentionally simple: a composting toilet and solar shower but no electricity or hot water, which suits the back-to-basics vibe perfectly.

Dogs are welcome for an extra fee, and there's dedicated car parking in an adjacent field to keep vehicles away from the woods. When you've had your fill of forest solitude, the local pub is a pleasant 15-minute country walk or two minutes by car. Reviews are overwhelmingly positive, with guests praising the tranquil setting and true wild-camping atmosphere, though be prepared for the lack of modern conveniences.

This is the best 48 hours I have had in a long long time. The woodland was a great spot for some off grid camping and peace and quiet. The hosts were superbly friendly and ever helpful. We loved our spot in the woods and the listening to the hooting owls just set the whole nighter scene. Composting toilets were well maintained and the campfire was centre stage for all our entertainment. Loved this trip so much and will visit again. Thanks you two for a great welcoming trip

A truly fantastic experience.Stayed in the cabin. Everything need possibly asked for was catered too. Such a beautiful tranquil setting. Its like staying in a fairytale. Great for escaping the stresses of modern life and resetting yourself with nature. Our stay here was heavenly . The owners are incredibly warm and welcoming. Will be booking again for next year.( would give more stars if it was possible.

Me and my boyfriend camped here over the bank holiday weekend and it was everything we had wished for and more! Sarah and Paul have such a quiet, peaceful property with a small handful of pitches. It feels like wild camping as it is so private. Sarah and Paul were very kind and provide excellent amenities for guests - we loved having a fire in the evening. I would recommend this place to everyone and we would come back in a heartbeat!

We stayed here for two nights and could have stayed longer, such a lovely woodland, peaceful and really relaxing. The owner was very welcoming and lovely and offered my tired partner a cold drink, which was really appreciated, we would highly recommend going and if your lucky like we were you can see the deer roaming through the woods in the early evening. We will be revisiting in the near future.
