White Horse Farm - Ratty’s
Dorset

Middlemarsh sits quietly between Sherborne and Dorchester, in countryside that rolls gently enough for walking but feels properly rural. White Horse Farm occupies 2 acres here, a collection of converted barns and a lodge set among woodland. Ratty's is one of those conversions: a single storey building with its own front patio, sleeping two in a ground-floor open-plan space.
Inside, you get a living area with a television and DVD player, a separate dining space, a kitchen with an electric cooker and microwave, and a bedroom with two single beds. The shower room is compact. Wi-Fi, heating, bed linen and towels come as standard. The farm provides games equipment shared with other guests—table tennis, table football, books and films—and a barbecue cabin if you want to cook together. There is a fenced duck pond in the grounds. One dog travels free.
Sherborne itself is 6 miles north: an abbey town with an actual castle, independent shops and restaurants. Dorchester lies 12 miles south. The Potting Shed therapy garden is nearby. The property does not allow smoking.

Our recent holiday in Moleys cottage was excellent, the cottage is very comfortable and has everything needed to make your stay pleasant. Our two dogs loved the paddock area, it is completely fenced off which is a comfort knowing that they can run around. The hosts Stuart and Audrey are delighted, on arrival we were welcome with fresh hen eggs and a delicious cake. The cottage was also supplied with tea, coffee, sugar and milk. Bed linen and towels were also included. White Horse Farm is a good base to go exploring from, highly recommend Cerne Abbas (great for dog walking) and Sherborne Castle. We will definitely be returning.

A great place to stay and ideal for exploring everything on offer. The accommodation may not be modern but it's clean reliable and offers all the essentials. A real cottage feel to the place. The hosts were friendly and went out of their way to make us feel welcomed. There's a pub right next door that offers fresh local food that has a standard hard to beat. Each and every day we explored the local towns and exhibits from Monkey World, Sea Life to museums, Dorchester, Yeovil and Weymouth to name but a few.

Thoroughly enjoyed the weekend break, it was the first family break with our dog Rosie. Upon arrival we were greeted warmly by the couple that run the place, they gave us a tour of the place and gave us some chickens eggs and a delicious homemade lemon cake. The facilities were well equipped and they thought of everything, the place was clean and cosy and we absolutely enjoyed the cabin with the side garden and also the barbecue hut . We definitely would like to rebook in the future.
