Don't stay in room seven! The staff were very lovely and the hotel was clean and in a great location, but there is a problem with the back rooms. They overlook the hotel generator and smell very strongly of diesel. I had a bad night as a result and swapped hotels for the rest of my stay. The staff were very understanding, refunded me fully which I really appreciate, but it can't be safe inhaling diesel fumes all night.

I stayed in a double room with the sea view at the Penta. It was a good room with good facilities. The only faults I could really say was that the room did have a bit of a smell about it, I don't know if this was the cleaning products used, I also didn't meet any staff apart from one woman at breakfast as I had to check in by phoning their sister hotel. Although the room size was good, great bathroom facilities and an amazing view.

Hotel is great and very good value for money, breakfast is tea/ coffee few cereals and juice and toast Inc butter and jam which suited us perfectly, unfortunately we had room 7, 2nd floor at the rear which suffered from a constant smell of diesel fumes coming from the boiler flume. I'm not sure if the other rooms at the rear also have this problem but the front rooms are probably ok. I would definitely use the hotel again in a different room or hopefully they will sort the problem.

Great budget hotel. Very clean. Nice staff. The room and en-suite bathroom were very large and nicely decorated. The view from the room was great. I could see all Douglas bay, harbour and the beach. Very quiet, no noise from other rooms. Bed comfortable. Free coffee and tea with kettle. On a bus and horse tram route. Walk across the road to the beach. Plenty of restaurants nearby.
