About Buchanan Arms Hotel & Leisure, Sure Hotel Collection

Step into a room at Buchanan Arms Hotel & Leisure and you'll find an en-suite bathroom, free WiFi and drinks laid on, with family rooms and accessible options available across the hotel's three floors and a lift to help you get there. It's worth knowing that while many rooms are comfortable, some have been flagged as due a refresh, so don't expect every corner to feel brand new.

Downstairs there's more to enjoy than the bedrooms let on. The restaurant and bar serve food that guests consistently rate highly, with packed lunches and kids' meals available too, and breakfast included to set you up for the day. The leisure side of things is a genuine draw, with an indoor swimming pool, gym, spa and sauna, plus a hot tub, all backed by staff who are generally described as helpful and welcoming. There's also a garden with outdoor seating, meeting rooms and a bridal suite for those hosting events.

Set in Drymen with Loch Lomond and the Trossachs close by, the hotel makes a solid base for walking, cycling, fishing or golf, and there are pubs and restaurants nearby for evenings out. Free on-site parking and pet-friendly rooms round out a stay here, making it a practical choice for exploring the area rather than a destination purely for the rooms themselves.

The hotel was perfect for what we were looking for—quiet at night, in a great location, and serving excellent food. Julie on reception was fantastic and went above and beyond to help us throughout our stay. Her friendly and helpful attitude really made a difference. If I'm in the area again, I will definitely stay here again and would happily recommend it to others.

We were there in March, lovely room nicely placed and staff/food were brilliant. But thus trip disappointed Room tired looking, marks on carpet. Lots of stairs to get to room. Our fault we hadn't mentioned disability for stairs, but we didn't last time and was fine. Evening meal, fish soaked in oil which soaked into chips. Breakfast great self service and lots of choice. Door was broken from hotel to spa, but walking all the way around to get in wasn't ideal, lucky no rain. Maybe should have mentioned when booking a treatment.

A couples weekend holiday turned into a terrible experience at this hotel. The room was terrible as it was adjacent to the disabled toilet and you could hear every flush and every time someone was using the toilet whilst in the room. Complained about it to the front desk reception who did absolutely nothing about the situation. Had dinner and breakfast at the hotel restaurant. The dinner was very low quality and did not really meet any good standards as most of it was shop bought and then heated up on the plate and served customers. The breakfast was rather ordinary and very oily. Very limited fruit and yoghurt options but very much of the Scottish breakfast low quality range of eggs, hashbrowns, potato scones, and bacon. Breakfast could be done so much better with better quality food and a great range of good breakfast Scottish products. Generally, the hotel and its room rooms and restaurants really need a major makeover and new management installed. It was once a beautiful hotel serving great pub food and giving great accommodation but this is not turned out to be the case a few years later. Stay here for maybe one night but then find alternative restaurants to eat at in the village or in nearby towns.

We stayed one night and unfortunately found the hotel to be tired and in need of upgrading . Lots of chipped paint etc. We enjoyed the leisure facilities on day 1 by day 2 they had no towels as we had checked out we couldnt use our room ones . On the plus side the food in the restaurant was really good and good value. Breakfast was good too. The servers at both dinner and breakfast were good as well.
