About Shandon Farmhouse Bed and Breakfast

A games room is not something you expect at a countryside bed and breakfast, but Shandon Farmhouse Bed and Breakfast includes one alongside its garden and outdoor seating, giving guests somewhere to unwind beyond the usual lounge. The farmhouse sits within easy reach of Loch Lomond and The Trossachs National Park, making it a practical base for exploring the area on foot or by car, with free on-site parking provided.

Rooms come with en-suite bathrooms and drinks provided, and breakfast is included to set guests up for the day. Free WiFi and a 24 hour reception mean the place runs smoothly whatever time guests arrive or leave, and a laundry service is available for longer stays. The garden offers views over the surrounding countryside, and there's outdoor seating for taking in the setting at a slower pace.

A pub, restaurant and other eateries are all nearby, so guests aren't reliant on breakfast alone, and a golf course and walking areas give options for the day. Entertainment nearby rounds out a stay that suits those wanting a quiet countryside base with Loch Lomond within striking distance.

We stayed for one night on our way up to Speyside. However I wish we could have had longer! Jane was a fantastic host and made us feel so welcome from the start - thank you! The whole place was so homely and our room - The Heather Room - was amazing. It was so big and the view over the garden and The Trossachs was unmatched to anything else I have ever seen, it was so beautiful and waking up to the birdsong was perfect. Breakfast was freshly cooked and so tasty. This stay was exactly what we needed! Thank you Jane!

This is such a nice play to stay! Genuinely sad we were only staying for one night. Jayne the host is incredibly hospitable and knowledgeable, she helped us out with who to book our baggage transfer with a few months prior. A couple of things I wanted to mention. We are an LGBT couple and that was no issue, we felt very safe and welcome, commenting this so others are aware as I hadn’t seen it listed in any reviews. Another thing is the place is so nice and clean. I have OCD so can feel uncomfortable in some places but I felt so relaxed here it was wonderful. 5* for cleanliness. Breakfast was brilliant, really enjoyed the views out of the room. Really nice and quiet too as it’s away from Drymen a little bit. Peaceful, friendly, clean, great breakfast. What more could you ask for?

Beautiful location, spacious, quiet rooms with everything you need. Jane and her family are lovely and Jane cooks a delicious meal! Fair pricing, lovely atmosphere, great location, and some adorable terriers too! I wish we could have stayed longer. I will definitely hike the Way again and will stay at the farmhouse again - recommend to everyone!!!

I arrived at Shandon Farmhouse after a couple of days in Edinbrugh and was so refreshed to be out in the countryside. Jane greeted us with so much kindness, showing us around the guest quarters and explaining where to meet for breakfast the next day. There is a big lounge room where guests can sit on a plethora of comfy surfaces. You can choose to sit and watch TV, read, have snacks, play games, or just look out the giant windows and just be. All the windows look out to her beautiful family and perfectly curated gardens. So much love is out into this space it makes you feel like you're at home. The room and bathroom were clean and comfortable. The breakfast had an assortment of cold and hot options. I chose the poached egg on toast with a side of sausage. The tea pot was never empty. I highly recommend staying here!!! Additionally, the instructions beforehand with check-in information and times were clear and informative with guides on where to eat, and how to ensure a table at these places was very clear.
