A dram before bed and a proper breakfast to follow is the rhythm at The Gables Whisky B&B, where an on-site bar sets it apart from the average Dufftown stay. Guests can settle in with drinks in the garden or take a nightcap up to their room, before starting the next day with breakfast included in the stay.
This is an adults-only B&B with en-suite rooms, accessible options, free WiFi and garden or mountain views depending on where you're placed. Outdoor seating and a garden give space to sit out, while 24 hour reception and laundry service take care of the practical side of things. Free on-site parking is included, useful given the property's spot on the B9009 just outside Dufftown.
Glenfiddich Distillery is close by, and the surrounding area suits walking and cycling as well as golf and fishing. Keith lies a short drive away for those wanting to explore further, and pubs, restaurants and entertainment nearby mean there's no need to rely solely on the B&B's own bar, though many guests find little reason to leave it.

Having travelled regularly to Scotland for over 40 years, I have no doubt that Gables must be in the top 5 of the places I have stayed. An incredibly relaxing place with hosts who do everything they can to make you feel comfortable as a guest. With considerable local knowledge, they are able to answer most of your questions. Their knowledge of whisky is no less, which is reflected in the unique whisky bar on site, where both beginners and more experienced whisky drinkers will find plenty of whisky gems. When in addition, the day can be started with a breakfast where the choices are variable and many, you can't ask for anything more. No doubt Sibette and Anne Jan, I will be more than happy to return to Gables!

Stayed in the Thistle Room. Great place to stay, especially if you like whiskey. Bed was comfy and the room was spacious and clean. The hosts were friendly and efficient. Bathroom was large and clean. Breakfast really nice. I recommend the dinners especially the Dutch Meatball. Dinner is booked in advance in the morning. Whiskey tasting is available (with dozens or perhaps a hundred to choose from) at the BnB too. It is a great idea since you can do a whiskey tasting (or have drinks with dinner) and you dont have to worry about driving. A big a bonus since Scottish driving laws pretty much forbid the consumption of any alcohol before driving. Anyway great place to stay.

The owners are amazing hosts and make you feel welcome. They have a wonderful collection of whisky. This place is so relaxing and very close to hiking Ben Rinnes and distilleries.

A great place with an enthusiastic and knowledgeable couple running the show. The range of whiskies available by the dram was amazing, and the rooms were comfortable and ell-equipped.
