Callander's is a terraced cottage in Gatehouse of Fleet, a town threaded by the River Fleet. The River offers direct walks from the property, and the enclosed garden to the rear provides a quieter space once you've finished exploring. One dog is welcome here, and the cottage is yours alone during your stay.
Inside there are two bedrooms—a super kingsize on the ground floor with ensuite shower and toilet, and a kingsize upstairs with ensuite toilet—plus a third bathroom for guests. The ground floor holds a sitting room with woodburner and open fire, a dining room, and a kitchen fitted for full self-catering. Bed linen, towels, Wi-Fi and electricity are included, as is initial fuel for the fires. The garden comes with furniture, and bike storage is available on site; parking is on the road outside.
Galloway Forest Park lies nearby, home to a red kite feeding station and designated as Britain's first Dark Sky Park. Kirkcudbright (the artists' town) and Castle Douglas (known for food) are both within reach for a day out. The beach is 5¼ miles away. A shop, pub and restaurant are fifty yards from the door. No smoking inside the property.
