3 Old Posting Stables

Dumfries and Galloway

View on Google Maps

Gatehouse of Fleet sits on the Solway coast with enough to occupy a weekend without going far. The town's mill visitor centre explains its industrial past, Cardoness Castle crowns the skyline, and the beaches at Cardoness and Mossyard lie a short drive away. Inland, forests and National Trust gardens including Threave spread across the countryside. Those after something more active will find zip-wiring at Laggan Outdoor Centre, and walking routes crisscross the rural surroundings.

3 Old Posting Stables is an upside-down terrace house arranged with both bedrooms on the ground floor—one with a double bed, one with two singles—and a shared shower room. Upstairs is the main living space: open-plan with large windows, a kitchen equipped for proper cooking (electric oven, hob, dishwasher, and slow cooker included), and a dining and sitting area with television and electric heating. A courtyard with garden furniture adjoins the property. There is an unfenced stream about 20 yards into the courtyard. Wi-Fi, electricity, bed linen and towels are provided. On-site parking for one car, with additional road parking available. No smoking.
